We do not import straws in bulk and repackage them claiming they are British. Our UK paper straws are made in Greater Manchester and the raw materials are sourced from European suppliers with all the correct FSC certification. We believe our straws have the lowest carbon footprint!

There are over 150 million tonnes of plastic in the world’s oceans. The UK alone uses an estimated 8.5bn straws a year, with plastic straws one of the top 10 items found in beach clean ups. Global initiatives have highlighted the impact that changing from plastic straws will have for the environment, with some US states already banning them entirely. The UK is on-track to follow suit with leading restaurants set to introduce the ban, including McDonalds, Wetherspoons, Costa Coffee, Pret A Manger and Wagamama. Throw-away consumption In the same way that we’ve seen behavioral changes towards single-use plastic shopping bags, the throw-away consumption of plastic products including straws is next.
